| On the 24th May 2005 a number of accommodation establishments got together with KZN Tourism's 'Tourism Information Services General Manager' James Seymour, at the Elarish Restaurant with a view to forming the Isi’bubulungu Coast Accommodation Association (ICAA). The intention was to devise a code of ethics for such establishments and promote the interests of the hospitality industry in the ICAA (Bluff) area. At subsequent meetings of the association, relevant Tourism and local government authorities attended in order to register the establishments. A core committee then set about drawing up a Constitution and the ICAA officially came into being on the 6th July 2005. Monthly meetings are held with a view to promoting the tourism industry and ensuring that all accommodation establishments uphold minimum criteria. To this end guest speakers have addressed the members regarding membership of the NAA ( National Accommodation Association) and KWABABA (Kwa –Zulu Bed and Breakfast Association) and the advantages of grading. The ICAA have since embarked on various projects involving the beautifying of the entrance to the Bluff, a brochure promoting restaurants, the tourist attractions and accommodation establishments on the Isibubulungu coast. |
