| Accidents happen as Durban Residents experienced 9/18 when tanks at Island View ignited. What could happen if there was an "accident" with the Tara Road Pipelines? |

| A Bluff Resident points to a pothole that damaged his car! BET points to a hole caused by a pipeline explosion that could send your car into orbit if a similar "accident" occurred on Tara Road. |
| At a recent public meeting SDCEA drew attention to the SAPREF pipeline rupture a few years ago in the vicinity of the Tara Road Bird Sanctuary where an estimated 10 million litres of refined petrol leaked into the ground. SAPREF is still recovering petrol from that leak in 2007 by extracting underground water which has caused the pond to seem empty as they have caused the water table to drop in the area by extracting ground water. Spare a thought for all the creatures that depend on that pond! |
